Before we carried a coffin through Schöneberg yesterday, we had months behind us. Truly months. Developing Gut Feeling together with doctors and nutrition scientists, fine-tuning the formula, finalizing the packaging design, getting the website ready and, at the same time, planning an event that was meant to be absurd, full of heart, and unforgettable. That included sourcing a real coffin and building a giant anal douche. Huge props to our wonderful Liese, who put that douche together with a devotion someone really should have filmed.

It started days in advance: flyers, posters, Instagram. We wanted Berlin to know. And Berlin knew.

A proper farewell

A quick word on the why, so the funeral procession makes sense: it's about something that's widespread in the queer community and among everyone who has anal sex, yet rarely talked about openly: douching before sex. A routine that medical professionals consider fairly invasive. We figured: if we're going to say goodbye, let's do it with style. So we threw this ritual a funeral.

The day

Yesterday, on May 30, 2026, we started early. We drove the coffin from the office to Nollendorfplatz. And yes, a coffin on the subway gets you exactly the puzzled looks, comments, and sneaky phone videos you'd imagine. The ride alone was its own little performance.

At Nollendorfplatz we set up the memorial, and once all the guests had arrived, we set off on a procession through the neighborhood to gather the curious. Around 50 mourners dressed in black moved with us from Nollendorfplatz through the streets, a coffin carrying the gigantic anal douche leading the way.

Back at the venue, we kicked things off with a small reception and drinks so everyone could recover from the journey. Then our drag "minister" Faye Fatale took over and delivered a fantastic lip sync to "The Power of Good-Bye." She followed it with a wonderfully funny eulogy that honored the anal douche as a loyal but unreliable companion and handed over to Dima, one of our founders, who had the honor of unveiling Gut Feeling.

The reveal landed. And the response was overwhelmingly positive. We heard so many kind words that, honestly, our hearts swelled more than just a little. Thank you for that.

And then we celebrated

After the official part, the funeral ended the way it should: open-air, with a party, great tunes from our wonderful DJ, drinks, and a stand where we raffled off Gut Feeling and merch. The first tins went straight to the guests on site.

The formula is based on psyllium husk as a source of soluble fiber, fennel seed, the African plant fibers baobab and acacia, and calcium from Lithothamnion red algae.
